Atletico Madrid scores two goals in extra time to defeat Real Madrid and seek vengeance in the Copa del Rey 

Atletico Madrid achieved a significant victory over their fierce rivals, Real Madrid, in Thursday's Copa del Rey match, allowing them to extract a measure of revenge for their recent loss in the Supercopa de Espana. The contest at Estadio Metropolitano concluded with a 4-2 win for the hosts, with goals from Alvaro Morata, Samuel Lino, Antoine Griezmann, and Rodrigo Riquelme.

Rushing out to intercept a free kick, Oblak seemed to miss making proper contact with his attempted punch, resulting in the ball slicing off his glove and into the net.

In the end, Joselu's efforts nearly turned the tide for his team, Atletico Madrid. However, it was Jude Bellingham who ultimately came through for his team, saving the day. As the talisman for Los Merengues, Bellingham delivered a crucial cross to Joselu in the 82nd minute, setting up a powerful header that found the back of the net. Although Atletico started extra time with promise, they could not match the quality of their play from the previous 90 minutes.

 On the 100th minute mark, Antoine Griezmann placed the hosts back in the lead by skillfully maneuvering inside after a remarkable solo run and overpowering Andriy Lunin with a forceful strike that soared into the roof of the net. 

Ultimately, this goal proved pivotal as Atletico Madrid eliminated their local rivals from the Copa del Rey, presenting Simeone with an outstanding opportunity to secure another trophy.
